Hanover Hospital is your local source of quality health care. Most of our staff are your friends and neighbors and know the community intimately. They provide the best family-friendly care you can find anywhere, just a short trip from your home.

In recent years, we have worked hard to upgrade the facilities and equipment to provide state-of-the-art care for all of the patients we serve—our friends and neighbors in Hanover and Washington and Marshall counties. We’ve purchased a new 64-slice CT scanner with many capabilities that allow us to offer unique services in our rural community. Our 64-slice CT scanner captures much more detail than scanners with fewer slices. It is so fast it can capture an image of the heart between contractions, providing extraordinary detail of a moving organ.

Since our opening in 1950, we have always supported our local community. Most of our employees and their families live in the area and are deeply involved in the community. We source all our food from the local grocery store, not a major food vendor. Many of our other needs are met by the local lumberyard, electric company, and other local businesses. We have supported our local students with job fairs and, for those who are interested, the opportunity to job shadow. Our students are also very involved with us. The elementary students read to our residents, who enjoy it tremendously. On Halloween, students trick-or-treat in the hospital. However, Christmastime is our favorite, as the students come and carol for the employees and the residents. Many of our staff members have been here for a long time—some have even spent their entire careers here. You know many of them from church or school functions, so when you come to us for treatment, you’re being cared for by your friends and neighbors.

Your hospital was founded in 1949 with the establishment of Washington County Hospital District No. 1. Funded by the Murphy Plan, the hospital held its Open House on March 13, 1950. You can read about the history on our history page.

Founded in March 1994, the foundation exists to build relationships and broaden financial resources to sustain the healthcare programs, projects, and services of Hanover Hospital.
